Asian Pacific region tops global office attendance rates: JLL
New office participation directives and emerging hybrid protocols have caused workers spending more time in the workplace. A year-long survey conducted by JLL spanning over 20,000 office workers around the world reveals that since 1H2023, 80% of staff members were investing three or more days weekly in the office, matched up to 51% in 1H2022 and 59% in 2H2022. “Overall, most international organisations worldwide (87%) are urging their employees to operate from the workplace a minimum of some of the time,” JLL adds.

Usually, employees internationally put in just over 3 days weekly in the office, with top presence on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, says JLL. As in-office assumptions linger, workplace attendance is expected to boost. In the Apac region, Taiwan leads with people participating in the workplace 4.7 days a week, followed by India (4.4 days), South Korea (4.2 days), Japan (3.8 days), and Singapore (3.4 days). Thailand reports a regular office presence of 3.3 days, whereas Australia ranks at 3.1 days.
